Crabby Jacks Bistro

Design Specification

The initial brief was to improve the atmosphere within which the clients dine. The internal kitchen canopies were working fine - however the roof extract fan was excessively noisy and discharged in the direction of the dining terrace.

The make-up air plant was previously incorrectly sized and re-introduced too little air at an increased velocity.

The design brief was to improve the ventilation systems noise and odour performance whilst keeping within a strict project budget.

Solution

There were insufficient funds available to include odour control measures but we were able to redirect the extract point away from the main dining terraces.

The original extract fan was retained and its specification allowed for both system and atmosphere side attenuators.

Make-up air duct was re-sized and with the introduction of two ceiling mounted stainless steel plenum boxes, we were able to introduce the air back into the kitchen at a sensible supply velocity.
